PSE9 - Lesson 3

This week we learned about using the "Effects Panel". The rose was changed instantly by using "sepia tone" and "scalloped edge" effects.

The next assignment was to use the auto smart fix, and other automatic corrections. My baby brother's (he is 78) treehouse is an example of the auto smart fix. We grew up in a big city, in an upstairs apartment, with no trees close in sight. I guess it has been Tice's secret desire for many years to have his own treehouse. He finally got his wish. He built it in his back yard.

The other fun tool we learned about was the "Recompose" tool. In the before and after shots of Tice's treehouse you can see how the picture was squeezed together without affecting the treehouse itself.

PSE9 - The Journey Begins - Lesson 2

For the first photograph we used "Action Player" in Guided Edit to produce a sepia toned image.

For my second assignment I was going to use Guided Edit to produce a panorama. However, when I tried that, PSE9 froze up - I tried it again, and again the program stopped. I think I will stick with my free Panorama making program, where all I have to do after I upload my pictures is push one button and voila.

So I opted for "Enhance Colors". Below are the before and after pictures of the Sawtooth Forest in Idaho.
